Graphic Design

magazine ad

Professional print design will make your message clearer, more attractive and more likely to be read. It is also the way most people will judge your organisation from the outside. So whether it be potential users or funders you are targeting, make a positive impact.

We design anything from business cards to brochures, reports, posters, banners and exhibition materials. We can work with your printer or provide you with competitive quotes from professional offset litho and digital printers we have built strong relationships with over the years. We can even print short-run on-demand books.

Photography

Girls on tyre swing

Whether you need to document an event or project, require images for your annual report or want a more effective print or web campaign, we can help by taking photographs of your events and activities.

Our clients find that professionally taken photographs of their services and activities have a greater impact than stock photography or photographs taken by well-meaning amateurs.

Here are some photos we've taken for clients that were used in their publications.

Web Design

jumpstartmove website

Many of our clients are now using the internet as a cost effective way of distributing their message. We design many reports and guides for download only or short-run targeted printing with downloadable versions for a wider audience. The same goes for video. Some of the films we have produced for clients have had thousands of views and never been distributed on DVD.

We can produce attractive and effective websites in-house and more complex ones with our colleagues at digital:works.

Some previous work:
Remembering Slavery
Climate Change

The Great White City

Film

Still from One Below the Queen film

Film is now an affordable way to document projects and events as it allows providers, service users and funders to have a say while capturing the moving images and sound of an event.

It is also an effective promotional tool. A short film highlighting your services housed on your website can be an impressive introduction to your organisation.

Take a look at the digital:works Vimeo channel for examples of films made directly for clients or with young people and community groups.

Illustration

Most of our illustration is done in-house but we can use and manipulate professional stock illustration. We also work with professional illustrators to develop stunning bespoke images for you.

Workshops

We run regular workshops for BBC 21CC and Roundhouse Studios on film-making, animation, podcasting and photography/ photoshop.

We can also tailor these to work in schools and community settings. Particularly practical is a graphic design session with service users to develop effective and targeted print materials.

Participation

We are part of the the digital:works arts and education charity which works with young people and community groups to give them a voice using creative media. Whether using film, animation, photography or audio they will learn creative and technical skills while putting their point across.

It's a great way of giving your service users a voice or to promote a campaign.

Clients

Our clients are mainly from the statutory and voluntary sector and include many local borough councils, housing associations, health agencies, campaigning organisations and educational establishments.

Abercrombie map

We came across Abercrombie/Forshaw's wonderful London Community map from 1943 and were disappointed to find there didn't seem to be a good copy of it anywhere - only reproductions from printed material. So, we set about redrawing it. An A2 version hangs on our office wall and some digital prints are available for sale.

Unfortunately, we've had to remove the free desktop pictures until we work out if we are infringing anyone's copyright by making it available.
